Multiplan is concluding phase II of the Pátio Savassi Expansion Plan in Belo Horizonte, boosting the project's Christmas store mix. The expansion added 6,400 m² to the constructed area, of which 2,300 m² is gross leasable area (GLA) and the complex now will feature total GLA of 21,612 m². In addition, another 95 parking spaces were added to the shopping center. After 18 months under construction, the mall now has two new anchor operations that certainly will add more diversity to the mix of local shops: Verdemar and Renner. The investment in the project was R$ 35 million.

Currently, the shopping center receives more than nine million people per year and, with the expansion, a 20% surge in client flow is expected. The official opening was November 14. "Pátio Savassi was born to be different, starting with its vanguard architecture, which makes it practically a continuity of the street, a sensation like an outing and a moment of tranquility for purchases," said superintendent Simone Fiorello.

Fiorello adds that the goal of the expansion is to reinforce the concept of lightness and practicality, introducing two operations that, in fact, are relevant. "Clients will have more conveniences and products in time for their Christmas shopping, both in terms of gifts as well as for the Christmas dinner. Now it will be possible to resolve everything right here in the Pátio,” she said.  Overall, the expansion will generate 400 direct jobs.

Pátio Savassi theater: complete and modern

Pátio Savassi, which is already recognized as a sophisticated shopping, fashion and cultural center, also has another novelty. The complex's theater underwent a makeover, with delivery scheduled for December. The project, from the drawing board of architect Regina Sasso at AM Arquitetura, will transform the site into a modern space containing scenic equipment, technical infrastructure, sound insulation, sound system and air conditioning. Once the reform is completed, the theater will be ideal for plays, stand-up comedy, musical pocket shows, commercial events, lectures and workshops. It will have seating for 100 people and features a foyer.  "The Pátio is a modern venue that offers the ideal climate for a family outing; no doubt, the theater will add even more, bringing culture to people, an idea that perfectly fits in with the project's concept," said Fiorello.

Renner: exclusive architectural layout

Renner, Brazil's largest fashion retailer, enters the project with some news. With a total area of ‌‌1,300 m² and an investment of R$ 3.6 million, the unit is the brand's 25th operation in the state and 319th in Brazil. It features an innovative layout, including an "Enchantment Meter," a tool pioneered and implemented with the intention of rating consumer experiences, located at the store’s entrance/exit. The operation is in line with the company's proposal to improve its environmental management practices, which accompanies the market trends and is in step with the consumers themselves, who are increasingly more demanding and aware in their purchasing decisions.

 Verdemar: an operation worth mentioning

The Minas Gerais-based Verdemar supermarket chain will be a distinguishing feature in the Patio mix! With ‌‌1,391 m² and 15 checkouts, the store has installed an elevator to access the new Pátio parking lot, offering more comfort and accessibility.  The unit’s novelty will be the "pick up and take out" snack space. The intention is to serve the mall public with practicality and options such as pizzas, focaccias and salty snacks. Clients can choose from 20 flavors of pizza, four types of focaccias, the traditional cheese bread and nine delicious versions of panini (stuffed cheese bread).

Established at Av. do Cotorno 6099 , with access also by the L1 floor, the store will follow the format of Emporio and Bakery, and will maintain the quality standard that made the chain one of the most recognized by resident of Belo Horizonte: approximately 27,000 items for sale, of which some 3,000 imported from more than 25 countries around the world; a bakery line, focusing on own production of hundreds of handmade items; a wine cellar, with a variety of national and imported labels; and traditional and exclusive food services: sushi and temakeria, creperie, grill, salads and roast chicken.

In addition to the anchor stores, the Patio mix will also include other brands this year! Pop Up Store, Paola Da Vinci, Baggagio, Luiza Barcelos, Loft, VR Collezioni and Assacabrasa are some of the brands that opened their doors recently. Samsonite, Tea Shop, We Basic and Fany Bombons are operations that will open before Christmas; more options for customers to give gifts this season.
