Multiplan joins the “Orange December” campaign against Skin Cancer

The Group’s Shopping Malls take part in the campaign proposed by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology

After participating in the Pink October and Blue November campaigns created to raise community awareness about Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer, Multiplan is now engaged in Orange December.  The Orange December campaign has been organized to combat and prevent Skin Cancer, the disease with the greatest incidence in Brazil and the world.  Promoted by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology, the project is designed to alert the population to the dangers of uncontrolled exposure to the sun.

Multiplan Shopping Centers will each have a Photo-Stand with the motto “Control the Sun” where customers will be able to take pictures interacting with the sun – embracing it, touching it or using the sun as a background for a photo in addition to receiving information about Skin Cancer.  The images can be shared on social media using the hashtag #dezembrolaranja to further publicize the campaign and alert everyone to the risks of the disease.

As part of the “Multiplying What’s Good” (“Multiplique o Bem”, Multiplan’s corporate social responsibility program, Orange December will start on December 5 at BarraShopping, in Rio de Janeiro; at the Anália Franco Mall, in São Paulo; at the BarraShoppingSul, in Porto Alegre (RS); and at the ParkShoppingBarigüi, in Curitiba (PR). On December 12, the program will open at the MorumbiShopping, in São Paulo; at the ParkShoppingCampoGrande, in Rio; the Pátio Savassi, in Belo Horizonte; and at the ParkShopping, in Brasília (DF).

Tourist attractions such as the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado, Maracanã Stadium in Rio, the National Congress, the Cable Car to Sugarloaf and the Newton Navarro bridge in Rio Grande do Norte, will be lit with orange lights to help people remember that every year 135,000 new cases of Skin Cancer are reported in Brazil.
