During the month of breast cancer awareness, RibeirãoShopping, in Ribeirão Preto (SP), has received a sculpture project inspired in the story of a patient at the RibeirãoShopping Medical Center. The center, created next to the mall with the purpose of offering comfort and practicality to patients, has more than 30 clinics, a day hospital, imaging center, clinical analysis laboratory, auditorium, cafe and a study center that brings an innovative service concept to the health area.
The exhibition "Pink Inspiration” is part of the Artemisa project – resulting from the partnership between producer Percpan, cultural producer Igor Cayres, artist Didu Losso and 14 women artists – and the programming of the Pink Collective. The Collective is an initiative of Pfizer in partnership with the main patient associations in the country and aims to showcase quality information about breast cancer to society, breaking paradigms.
Standing 1.70 m tall, the 23 torso sculptures depicting 22 women and one man in treatment will be exhibited in eight cities throughout the country during the month of October. Anyone observing the works will be able to view the others by directing their cellphone to a QR Code that leads to the complete virtual exhibition.
In addition to this action, the front of the mall on Avenida Presidente Vargas is illuminated in pink throughout the month.
