Environmental and urban solutions of Parque Global, a Bueno Netto Group and Related Brazil project for which Multiplan will develop its fourth shopping center in São Paulo were key to the company's winning the Master Real Estate Award 2014, featuring a project that will create the newest sustainable neighborhood in the state capital.

In June this year, Multiplan signed an 111,000-m² land swap deal for the development of a new mall in the project. The company plans to build a shopping center on the site with building construction potential of approximately 80,000 m² of gross leasable area (GLA), including future expansions. The agreement also includes possible development of commercial and residential towers integrated with the shopping center, subject to future licensing.

Among the notable aspects evaluated by the judging committee were rehabilitation of the land between the Cidade Jardim Complex and Parque Burle Marx, which transformed an old Pinheiros River dump site into a project certified by the leading environmental awareness authorities of the country, and recovery of a forested area, which will include replacement of diseased trees and the donation of the equivalent of 11,799 seedlings to the Special Fund for the Environment.

In the urban solutions category, the new district was recognized for projects that will improve mobility in the region. Parque Global will build three new lanes on the Pinheiros Marginal roadway as well as a new bridge. It already has expropriated land for construction of a future Gold Line Metrô station. These actions, based on an investment of more than R$ 3 billion as part of an Urban Operation project, will create a multiple-use complex in line with new global integrated residential, work and leisure trends, avoiding large losses of time and effort due to commuting and urban travel bottlenecks.

The Real Estate Master Prize, created in 1994 by FIABCI/Brazil (Brazilian Chapter of the International Federation of Real Estate Professionals) and Secovi-SP (São Paulo Syndicate of Sales, Rental and Residential and Commercial Property Management Companies), was inspired by the concepts and criteria of the Prix d'Excellence, awarded by FIABCI World during its annual Congress and regarded as one of the international real estate sector's most important honors.
