Actions that reinforce the commitment to citizenship, human rights and benefit the communities in the vicinity of its malls are part of Multiplan's DNA. Proof of this is the Company’s support of the "No more child labor" awareness campaign run by the Public Ministry of Labor in partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO), the National Forum for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor (FNPETI) and the Program to Combat Child Labor and Encourage Learning, of the Labor Court.

A video clip, broadcast on social media and in the 19 shopping centers managed by Multiplan, features scenes from the movie "O Menino e o Mundo," Brazil's most internationally awarded audiovisual production, and a soundtrack with the song "Semente" (Seed), by the duo Palavra Cantada, and aims to promote, protect and defend the interests of children and adolescents, as well as raise consciousness in society that a child's place is in childhood.

According to data from IBGE (2019), child labor affects about 1.8 million children and teens in the country, depriving them from experiencing childhood and impacting their ability to attend school and have quality leisure time, among other consequences.

Toward this end, shopping malls are important private spaces for socializing, where the human rights issue can and must be taken up, due to the high impact that social campaigns can generate in these locations where there are large people flows.

"Children and adolescents have fundamental rights and need them to develop in a healthy, integral and harmonious manner. Campaigns like this are very important to ensure that everyone has access to these rights and to help eradicate child labor in the country," says Vander Giordano, Multiplan's Institutional Vice President.
