Multiplan Shopping Centers promote Solidary Christmas

With the arrival of another Christmas, Multiplan’s shopping centers are promoting their traditional Christmas Solidarity projects with actions to spread the magic of the season, inviting the public to help provide a happier end of year for children in several cities in Brazil.

The BarraShopping, NewYorkCityCenter and VillageMall malls in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) are promoting a campaign to collect new or used toys in good condition. The action is a partnership with the NGO Viva Rio, which will revert the items to children in situations of social vulnerability.

The Solidarity Christmas program at the recently opened ParkJacarepaguá, in Rio, features a non-perishable food collection campaign. The donations will go to the Mesa Brasil SESC project, helping to transform the lives of children, young people, adults and the elderly all over the country.

Christmas at MorumbiShopping, ShoppingVilaOlímpia, and ShoppingAnáliaFranco, in São Paulo (SP); at ParkShoppingSãoCaetano, in São Caetano do Sul (SP); and at JundiaiShopping, in Jundiaí (SP), also assists in the fight against hunger. Each sales receipt registered by the customer becomes a R$0.10 donation, made by the shopping center that registered the receipt. The total amount collected will be converted into food destined to the Fundo Social de Solidariedade de São Caetano do Sul, to the Sociedade Agostiniana de Educação e Assistência (SAEA) and to G10 Favelas. To participate, clients simply register their receipts from purchases in the participating malls on the Multi superapp during the period of the promotion.

RibeirãoShopping and ShoppingSantaÚrsula, in Ribeirão Preto (SP), are running the traditional Christmas Tree Solidarity Action. In partnership with the Rotary Club, through which customers can donate gifts for children and elderly people served by the following entities: Creche Frasol - Fraternidade Solidária São Francisco de Assis, Creche A Casa dos Pequeninos, Comunidade Lar Ombro Amigo and FAC - Fraterno Auxílio Cristão da Cidade de Ribeirão Preto. In addition, those interested in animal causes can also donate bags of food for dogs and cats at the Pet Solidary Trees, an initiative that counts on the partnership of the NGO Iluminar and the Associação Amigos dos Animais.

DiamondMall, in Belo Horizonte (MG), has set up the Tree for the Good, which displays cards with the profile of boys and girls assisted by the Abrigo Cirandinha, Casa de Apoio Sara, Colmeia, Creche São José and Fundação Aura charitable entities. Customers who want to participate in the action can pick out as many cards as they want and leave gifts in a box located on Floor L3. During the week before Christmas, Santa's helpers will deliver the presents to the children.

At BarraShopping Sul, in Porto Alegre (RS), the Christmas lounge houses little cards with the requests sent to Santa Claus placed on a special Christmas tree. Customers who pass by can choose a letter and give it to the chosen child. The action is a partnership with Educandário São João Batista and the presents will be delivered to children and teenagers assisted by the institution.

ParkShopping Canoas' Santa Claus Corner also receives letters with Christmas wishes from children in a community in Canoas (RS). Customers can adopt the letters and offer them as presents. The solidarity action is in partnership with the NGO Transformar RS.

At ParkShopping, in Brasília (DF), the Solidarity Tower is an invitation to unity action, as well as a locale for amusing children and adults. To play in the attraction, clients are invited to contribute R$25 (one way up/down) or R$40 (two ways up/down) per person. Part of the amount collected during the operation will go to the Santo Aníbal Maria Center (@cs_santoanibal), which shelters more than 350 children in situations of extreme social vulnerability.
