The BarraShopping Business Center was voted the best Large Commercial Project
The BarraShopping Business Center (CEB), opened in 2001, was announced during the ADEMI Highlight 2016 Awards - 45th Year ceremony as the winner in the Large Commercial Project category. The award ceremony, organized by the Association of Real Estate Business Executives (ADEMI), was held at the Hotel Royal Tulip.
The association - which throughout its history has become a point of reference for identifying the progress of the industry in terms of quality of projects, creativity of builders and respect for the guidelines of sustainability and social responsibility - selected the market's most iconic designs for the ADEMI Highlight award.
The BarraShopping Business Center is part of one of the largest shopping, services and leisure complexes in Rio de Janeiro and occupies an area of over 700 linear meters fronting Avenue of the Americas. Altogether, there are 11 blocks of buildings, five stories tall and an underground floor each, which host small and medium-sized businesses. The architectural project includes 46,000 square meters landscaped by Burle Max.
All the buildings are connected to BarraShopping and Barra da Tijuca Regional Courts by a walkway used by 3,000 people daily. There is also a connection with VillageMall.
According to Multiplan's Vice President of Development, Marcello Barnes, CEB was the forerunner of the new era of exclusive corporate buildings for companies. "At the time, the CEB was very prominent because it was innovative in terms of landscaping, collective convention rooms and its direct connection with the mall."
Barnes pointed out that Multiplan's mixed-use projects are pioneers in the market and promote quality of life and convenience to the members of the public who use the projects. "The ADEMI Highlight award always has sought to spotlight the industry's best practices. This is the proof that we are on the right track," he said.
The award ceremony was attended by members of different segments of the real estate market and representatives of the Legislative, Executive and Judiciary branches of government. The company’s director of Projects, Nelson Borges, received the award on behalf of Multiplan.
