Multiplan announced on Wednesday, December 20, the beginning of the construction of the Company's 20th shopping center, ParkShopping Jacarepaguá, which is being developed in the Jacarepaguá region of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The project will contain a Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of approximately 41,000 m² and the opening is scheduled for November 2019.
Located in a section of the city experiencing growth, the project will serve a population of 600,000 inhabitants with a huge demand for services, commerce and leisure. The shopping center will be built on an area of approximately 95,000 m² and will boast unique and innovative architecture. Its various environments apply the most modern sustainable technologies available, aiming at creating an efficient condominium through reduction of operating and maintenance costs.
Multiplan will own a 91.0% interest in ParkShopping Jacarepaguá's revenues and bear 100% of the project's construction cost. The investment is estimated at R$ 500.0 million. The expectation is that the mall will generate approximately 3,000 jobs.
ParkShopping Jacarepaguá will feature all of the convenience and functionality characteristics of Multiplan's projects. There will be 232 shops, including 15 anchor stores and mega stores, a supermarket, a multi-purpose event center, a permanent ice-skating rink, seven stadium movie theaters, a theme park - Hotzone, 10 restaurants, as well as a large food court with 34 operations and 2,100 parking spaces, of which 700 are covered.
