Multiplan and BarraShoppingSul Win Abrasce Awards

Company is highlighted among best mall projects developed by shopping centers from all over Brazil

Multiplan and two of its shopping centers were highlighted in the 2022 edition of the Abrasce Award, which recognizes the best mall projects developed by shopping centers from around Brazil, evidencing the importance of the properties as agents of social transformation and vectors of urban growth. The company and four of the 19 shopping centers it manages -ParkJacarepaguáBarraShoppingSulRibeirãoShopping and ParkShoppingSãoCaetano - were finalists in five categories. Two awards were won: one gold and one bronze.

In the "Expansion and revitalization" category, BarraShoppingSul was gold with the BarraCadabra - The expanded experience case study, a permanent park in the shopping center that offers multisensory experiences and learning, entirely thought up, conceived and developed for children from 0 to 13 years of age. It aims to be increasingly more a platform of experiences for its visitors. As the first experiential expansion in the country, Barracadabra is an external and permanent extension of the shopping center that allies creativity and innovation to the functionalities of the mall.

In the "Newton Rique de Sustentabilidade | ESG" category, Multiplan won bronze with the ParkJacarepaguá: A mall full of sustainability case history. The development is the group’s most sustainable project and was born with the concept of the "shopping center of the future," designed and built with the most modern sustainable technologies and following the best environmental practices for greater operational efficiencies and lower condominium costs. Multiplan also invested in the revitalization of public roads and improvements in the education and health infrastructure around the mall, thus contributing to the well-being of the local population, estimated at around 700,000 inhabitants.

In the "Technology and Innovation" category, RibeirãoShopping entered its Agiliza - Digital Management of Works and Renovations project, spotlighting its proprietary software that helps in the management of projects and works of the stores, ensuring operational efficiency, rationalization of costs and tenant satisfaction.

The project also competed in the "People Management" category, with the project "RibeirãoShopping agile methodologies for extraordinary results, which highlighted how the implementation of agile management methods led to a huge revolution, integrating the operations teams, enhancing deliveries, anticipating bottlenecks, reducing costs and generating extraordinary results.

The shopping center also competed in the "Events and Promotions" category, with the Live Commerce of RibeirãoShopping case, a study of the mall’s first live digital event held in January 2022, featuring promotions through the Liquidação do Lápis Vermelho (Red Pencil Sale). The unprecedented activity joined up with the mall’s traditional sales activity, one that has influenced generations of consumers since being launched more than 40 years ago, now notable for allying with the novel digital model.

Competing in the same category was ParkShoppingSãoCaetano, which was a finalist with the Aniversário de 10 anos do ParkShoppingSãoCaetano case, which highlighted the "Our anniversary is made for those who live with us" campaign. This consisted of a series of videos where clients, partners and influencers shared their experiences with the mall over its 10 years.

Also in this category, BarraShoppingSul entered the A Fantastica Fábrica de Gaiteiros case, created by musician Renato Borghetti, which provided an immersion in the gaucho culture of southern Brazil, keeping its traditions alive. The public learned about the manufacturing process, assembly, and tuning of the diatonic accordion, popularly known as the eight-bass accordion, as well as some of its history. The program included concerts, mate tea parties and workshops on the culture of mate tea.

In the "Expansion and revitalization" category, BarraShoppingSul competed with the Baixo Barra project, a food hall with crafts concepts and signature cuisine in an environment and architecture that favors meeting friends, conversation, conviviality and the culture of good food.
