International exhibition "Transformers" comes to ParkShoppingCampoGrande

Autobots and Decepticons land in Brazil in a previously unseen and free show, to the delight of fans of the saga

Beginning September 18, 2015, the admirers of the Transformers universe can check out a new international exhibition being shown for the first time in Brazil, consisting of nine giant sculptures of the most memorable characters in the saga. Asian artist Jienyue Zhou, who produced some of the pieces from recycled cars, created the collection. The exhibition, on display in ParkShoppingCampoGrande until October 25, 2015, is free to the public.

It features the noble hero Optimus Prime, villainous Lord Megatron, dreaded Fallen, weapons expert Ironhide, explorer Jetfire, the Hound survivor, infiltrator Mudflap and warrior Drift, with four of them accompanied by their animatronic Dinobots. Among the four animatronic dinosaurs featured in the exhibition, one is five meters tall and 12 meters long.

And, of course, the show could not miss presenting the adorable Bumblebee character — which transforms itself into a spectacular yellow Camaro. There are two versions: a 3.5-meter-tall sculpture and a character who wanders through the mall delighting children.

"This is a great opportunity for fans of the popular Hasbro saga, seen by millions of people, to be close to their 'idols.' Brazil will be a privileged spectator of this show, which promises to surprise visitors by its grandeur and beauty," said the superintendent of ParkShoppingCampoGrande, Paulo Bittencourt.

Also on display is an island equipped with six touch screens with apps related to the series and the characters. The public can enter the amazing world of Optimus Prime, since its inception as a comic strip through to the television series. There is also a space with nine replicas of the huge weapons used by the robots, such as the dreaded Fallen and a scenic structure where visitors can take pictures for free.

The show is part of a project initiated in 2011 by Multiplan, which aims to encourage exhibitions and educational and cultural activities in the group's malls. The company has provided its customers more than ten unique and free shows in its shopping malls in the last four years. "We seek exclusive entertainment projects that will please visitors of all ages. And with Transformers, we hope to surprise the audience, combining the playful side of the characters with the magnificence of the pieces," said Rodrigo Perez, Multiplan marketing manager.

Transformers - Charismatic and full of charm, the Transformers have been conquering children and adults worldwide since 1984, when Hasbro had the idea of promoting Japanese toymaker Takara's products with a series in Marvel Comics and through animated films. The strip appeared in Brazil in 1987. Its success led to more toys and sequels and five feature films.

The Transformers exhibition is produced by Agosin Eventos of Chile, a company with over 20 years of experience, which organizes an average of 30 international shows per year. This exhibit premiered in Santiago in July of this year, where it was seen by about 200,000 people.
