Three years after the inauguration of the solar power generation complex in Itacarambi (MG), which supplies 100% of the VillageMall shopping center, and after almost two years of operation of the photovoltaic plant located in Paty de Alferes (RJ), which supplies its headquarters in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Multiplan has been reaping good results from these projects, which go far beyond savings on the electricity bill.

Since the beginning of the operation, the company has generated 44,293 MWh in both plants, thus avoiding the emission of almost 40,000 tons of CO₂, equivalent to planting 22,367 trees. By way of comparison. this would be enough energy for almost 40 million hot baths.

"We work in line with sustainable practices by adopting responsible behavior that not only prevents, but also combats the deterioration of the environment and the depletion of natural resources. This translates into a positive and lasting impact for the company and for society as a whole," says Vander Giordano, the company's Institutional Vice-President.

Environmental issues have always been part of Multiplan's essence. In addition to these two external plants, the Company also invests in solar panels installed directly on four of its developments: ParkShoppingCampoGrande, ParkShopping Canoas, ParkShoppingSãoCaetano and ParkJacarepaguá. The latter is the most sustainable of the group, and was designed and built with the most modern sustainable technologies (shopping center of the future), following the best environmental practices, aiming for greater operational efficiency and lower condominium costs.

Multiplan also exercises its sustainable nature by investing in a system for reusing rainwater, a sewage treatment plant, lighting fixtures with LED lamps with maximum energy efficiency, and the use of low-e glass, with a significant reduction in energy consumption. All of the chain's malls have selective waste collection scheme, and the Company has already attained important milestones, such as being part of the B3 indexes related to sustainability - ICO2, S&P/B3 ESG, Dow Jones Green Real Estate.
