As part of the "Multiply the Good" hub of social initiatives adopted by Multiplan, the Company started running blood donation campaigns in 2016 in seven of its shopping centers in the Rio-São Paulo area. Since then, more than 14,000 blood bags have been collected, helping to save more than 56,000 lives. For comparison purposes, the number of lives saved would exceed the capacity1 of Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre (RS), and extrapolate the estimated population2 of Campos do Jordão (SP).
In Rio de Janeiro (RJ), the campaign took place in four of the chain's shopping centers: BarraShopping, VillageMall, ParkJacarepaguá and ParkShoppingCampoGrande, and the blood bags were sent to Hemorio.
In São Paulo (SP), MorumbiShopping sent the donations to Banco de Sangue Paulista. ShoppingAnáliaFranco donated the blood bags to the Fundação Pró-Sangue (Blood Foundation). At ShoppingVilaOlímpia, the donations were sent to the Hospital Einstein.
