On June 18th, Multiplan launches ParkShoppingCanoas, its 19th shopping center, located in the city of Canoas, state of Rio Grande do Sul. There will be more than 250 stores, in an area of 120,000 m² and 48,000 m² area Gross Leasable (ABL). The investment of the entrepreneurs will be around R $ 400 million. There will also be allocated by retailers around R$ 200 million, generating for Canoas an injection of approximately R $ 600 million. The mall now has 63% of its gross leasable area (GLA) leased.

The largest national anchor stores are already present, as Renner, Lojas Americanas, Riachuelo, Ri Happy and Paqueta Sports. Among the highlights are the Supermarket Zaffari and Forever 21, a North American fast fashion branding which now has a single store in Porto Alegre, in BarraShoppingSul, and 15 in Brazil. The new shopping center will also have restaurants like Outback SteakHouse, the Galeto Mamma Mia and Petiskeira. UCI Cinemas will operate the movie theater. The mall will have a modern gym, with 2,150 m², the Unique Fitness.

The ParkShoppingCanoas still have a permanent skating rink, with 750 m², in a living area surrounded by several gastronomy operations.

"We decided to invest in Canoas because it is an important city of Rio Grande do Sul, an area with a high demand and few consumer choices. We have there a confluence of cities in the metropolitan region and the Sinos Valley with a disability not only of consumer options, but also leisure. Let's build a shopping center that will be a place where people go to meet and have fun a lot", says the president of Multiplan, José Isaac Peres.

The building began in the end of 2013 and the opening is scheduled for April 2017. The company decided to Canoas for a several reasons that made the city highly strategic for Multiplan. The city has the third largest population ¹ in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and presents the second highest GDP ¹, behind only that of the capital city, Porto Alegre.

 "We want to give back all this receptivity with the commitment to contribute to the trade and the modernization of the city from the ParkShoppingCanoas. This is the commitment of Multiplan with the cities which welcome us", said Peres.

The ParkShoppingCanoas contribute expressively with the development of Canoas. Multiplan will invest R$ 19 million in the surrounding improvements in legal counterparts. They will be duplicated and modernized Dr. Sezefredo Azambuja Vieira Avenue and Farringdon Avenue. The Getúlio Vargas Municipal Park, with approximately 70,000 m2, will be revitalized, getting furniture and lakes to capture rainwater. Multiplan still build a connecting walkway between the shopping center and the future airmobile season. In addition to investment, the mall will generate about 1,000 direct jobs during its construction and over 2,000 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs after the inauguration.
