“Brasil Selvagem” exhibition debuts at JundiaíShopping

An amazing trip to Brazil's forests and jungles. This is the proposal of the “Brasil Selvagem” (Wild Brazil) exhibition created exclusively for Multiplan's malls. The brainchild of Cristian Dimitrius, the exhibit "drops" mall-goers into Brazil's various natural biomes through photographs, videos, interactive programs and educational activities. Visitors can stroll among animal replicas introduced into their natural habitats, watch movies about the biomes or have fun in an interactive play area, which includes computer browsing and tree climbing activities. The attraction debuted July 19 at JundiaíShopping, in Jundiaí (SP).

Dimitrius, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, put together a remarkable collection of videos and photos of Brazil produced during his many years of work. It consists of the best and most representative images of Brazilian biomes: Cerrado, Caatinga, Amazon Forest, Atlantic Forest, Pantanal, Pampas and Coastal Zone. The images also showcase impressive shots of threatened animals caught on film, including a jaguar, river otters and the spinner dolphin, among others. "My mission is to bring beautiful images to the public so that people fall in love with nature, and therefore they will begin to defend and preserve it," says Dimitrius.

The exhibition has a number of surprises for visitors. Based on the proposal of interactivity with wildlife, the project presents curious details about each region of the country, as well as some of the most enigmatic animals that are part of Brazil's great biodiversity pool. All of this is set in a scenic environment with a soundtrack designed to engage the visitors.

Another highlight of this wildlife discovery trip is a backstage view ("making of") of the photo expeditions themselves, showing the photographer's day-to-day working life in the wild. The series of photographs details the expeditions, illustrating difficulties encountered by the photographer in each shooting environment for "Brasil Selvagem."

"JundiaíShopping expects to offer the public a unique scenic, interactive and sensory experience, in order to inspire everybody's interest in topics such as sustainability, environmental preservation and education," says Guillermo Bloj, superintendent of JundiaíShopping.

Participants can also enjoy tree climbing on a 6-meter-high structure built on the mall's main floor. The free activity is allowed for children 4 years and older and for people weighing up to 70 kilos.

"Brasil Selvagem" is part of Multiplan's ongoing strategy to offer its clients unprecedented educational and cultural leisure options. This event marks the eighth unique and free exhibition put on in its malls in the last four years. "Since 2011, seven free shows have traveled to our shopping centers. And by the end of the year, we will have yet another. We hope the whole family can relate to this latest, gorgeous project about the mysteries of Brazilian nature," explains Rodrigo Peres, Multiplan's marketing manager.

After JundiaíShopping, where "Brasil Selvagem" will be on display from July 19 to August 10, 2014, the exhibition will tour the following Multiplan malls: RibeirãoShopping, em Ribeirão Preto (SP); Shopping Anália Franco, in São Paulo (SP); ParkShoppingBarigüi, in Curitiba (PR); BarraShoppingSul, in Porto Alegre (RS); and ParkShoppingCampoGrande, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

"Brasil Selvagem" was developed and curated by Aloha Consultoria & Eventos.
