On National Health Day, Multiplan once again is reinforcing its commitment to the important process of immunizing the Brazilian population against COVID-19. In partnership with the Municipal Health Secretariats, vaccination points were set up in five of the Group's projects: ShoppingAnáliaFranco (SP) and ShoppingVilaOlímpia, in São Paulo (SP), ParkShoppingSãoCaetano, in São Caetano do Sul (SP), RibeirãoShopping, in Ribeirão Preto (SP), and BarraShoppingSul, in Porto Alegre (RS). Since the beginning of the initiative until August 3, more than 123,000 doses of immunizing agents were applied in Multiplan's shopping centers.

Multiplan also donated 15,000 antigen tests for the detection of COVID-19, which were delivered to the Rio de Janeiro City Hall by the União Rio Movement, between January and February 2021. In addition, the Company continues to promote blood donation campaigns throughout the year. To donate blood at one of Multiplan’s shopping malls, check out the program of actions through each project’s websites and social networks.

To ensure the safety of customers, store owners and employees, the malls also continue to follow the necessary sanitary measures and bolster the importance of the mandatory use of masks, constant hygiene and minimum distance.

Advanced Research and Development Center (CAPED)

Multiplan also invests in health sciences, having developed the first Medical Center integrated with a mall (open to the public at BarraShopping in the 1990s) and, more recently, through the Advanced Research and Development Center (CAPED), located at RibeirãoShopping Medical Center and opened a little over a year ago. The Company's investment in CAPED is in line with the strategy of developing multipurpose projects that provide convenience to consumers, offering “everything in one place,” in addition to contributing to society through scientific research in the country.

CAPED is led by the cardiologist and professor at USP, Dr. Pedro Schwartzmann, and has more than 14 studies approved in different phases of clinical research. One of the ongoing projects analyzes cases of COVID-19 and the  disease's cardiological impacts.

The research center also benefits patients at the RibeirãoShopping Medical Center, who now have access to state-of-the-art specialists and infrastructure, in addition to researchers who support the clinical staff and sponsors of the national research.
