Inaugurated on May 5, 1981, RibeirãoShopping, the main and most traditional shopping center project in the Ribeirão Preto region, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The enterprise is part of the history of thousands of people who seek shopping, leisure and services at a single location, besides being one of the most important vectors for urban development and job generation in the city and neighboring municipalities.
To celebrate RibeirãoShopping's anniversary, a 40th birthday commemorative plaque was inaugurated with the presence of Multiplan's president and founder, José Isaac Peres, and Mayor Duarte Nogueira, in the project's Suspended Garden.
RibeirãoShopping was the first shopping center in Ribeirão Preto, the second in the Multiplan chain and one of the first in Brazil, totaling four decades of a history featuring nine successful expansions and the construction of a modern Medical Center. The venture attracted people from the city around it and became a point of reference for fashion, leisure and gastronomy. An agile and changing enterprise that, throughout its history, has provided consumers with unique experiences that anticipate trends, enchant and surprise.
RibeirãoShopping's story began in the 1980’s and the project continues to contribute to the development of the city. Even in the midst of the pandemic, the multi-use complex has reinvented itself to serve its customers with quality and safety, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to health and wellness.
Today, the project has about 434 operations, including the Medical Center, a modern event center with complete infrastructure to put on large shows and events and an Advanced Research and Development Center (CAPED).
