Eight months after the inauguration of the photovoltaic plant that supplies its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro in August, Multiplan is already reaping the benefits of the project. Located in Paty de Alferes (RJ), the plant has made it possible to avoid the emission of 238.5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. The result is 54% higher than the annual CO2 emission reduction expectation of 154 tons of CO2 per year.

In addition, the Company has already avoided the emission of more than 23,000 tons of CO2 with another solar energy production complex, built in 2019 to supply 100% of the VillageMall mall in Rio de Janeiro. By the end of 2021, the solar park located in Itacarambi (MG) should generate 831,000 kWh of energy for the project.

The accumulated production of the photovoltaic complex that supplies VillageMall would be sufficient for more than 23 million baths and to meet the monthly consumption of 118,873 homes. The energy produced in eight months by the Paty de Ensign plant would be enough for more than 240,000 baths and to supply 1,218 homes for one month.

The Company's good results in solar energy production ensured its presence in the December 2020 edition of the Operational Ranking of Solar and Wind Energy produced by ePowerBay, a market intelligence platform for Renewable Energy projects in Brazil. In the month analyzed, Multiplan was the only company unrelated to the energy sector listed in the top 10 of the ranking, with the photovoltaic plant that supplies VillageMall.

With these two photovoltaic power plant complexes, Multiplan has reaffirmed its commitment to the search for clean and renewable energy sources as part of its ESG initiatives in search of best environmental practices. VillageMall, in Rio de Janeiro was the first mall in Latin America capable of producing 100% of the energy it consumes. And Multiplan also invests in its own power generation through solar panels installed directly in three projects: ParkShoppingSãoCaetano, ParkShoppingCampoGrande and ParkShopping Canoas.
