MorumbiShopping, in the capital of São Paulo, has been hosting the SAS Brasil Mobile Blood Bank collection unit, Hemocenter, through to August 22. With sponsorship from Roche, SAS Brasil adapted a tractor-trailer truck to receive blood donations in partnership with the Hemocentro São Lucas in a number of locations in the capital and around Greater São Paulo.
Positioned outside the mall, the truck-based facility follows all health safety standards in force during the Covid-19 pandemic. To avoid crowding, blood donations can be made from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and must be scheduled in advance via WhatsApp (11) 95897-1046.
To donate, it is necessary to comply with the rules of the Blood Center: weigh more than 50 kg; not present symptoms of diseases; and be between 16-69 years old (minors under 18 years of age must present authorization and i.d. of a legal guardian.) Donors also must present an original photo ID.
These and other initiatives reinforce Multiplan's commitment to the health and well-being and of all. In June and July, shopping malls in Rio de Janeiro - BarraShopping, VillageMall and ParkShoppingCampoGrande - conducted blood donation campaigns in partnership with Hemorio, totaling more than 600 bags collected, helping save almost 2,500 lives.
