With an investment of R$ 250 million, the mall will now have an exclusive medical center for 22 different areas of specialization, a multipurpose event center and a permanent ice skating rink.
Multiplan, one of the largest companies in the shopping mall industry in Brazil, has announced a R$ 250 million investment plan for the third and largest expansion of the ParkShoppingBarigüi, in Curitiba (PR). The project will add more than 15,000 m² in gross leasable area (GLA), of which 8,571 m² will have 75 new stores, a 4,780 m² Medical Center and the 1,800 m² Event Center. ParkShoppingBarigüi will also gain two movie theaters, a permanent ice skating ring and a Gourmet Park with new restaurants and cafes.
Multiplan's important contribution to ParkShoppingBarigüi aims to further reinforce the region's positive growth in the 16 years of the mall's existence. As proof of its direct and indirect contribution in the region in the last 10 years, there was a growth of 144.23%, reaching the milestone of R$ 1 billion in sales in 2018. The expansion project is expected to generate 1,000 new jobs, further corroborating the prosperous development of the city.
Work on ParkShoppingBarigüi's third expansion will begin in February 2020 and is scheduled for delivery in May 2021. The new floor is designed to be a suspended boulevard with wide corridors, multiple meeting points and the use of plenty of glass on the ceilings and walls, giving the feeling of outdoors, safely and comfortably. The project was developed according to the principles that guide all Multiplan projects: sustainability and environmental preservation, with the promotion of leisure and entertainment and a diverse mix of stores.
Other important features of ParkShoppingBarigüi's new expansion will be the multi-purpose event center with infrastructure to host concerts, plays, exhibitions, parties and conventions, the ice skating rink with bleacher seating and an open balcony overlooking Barigüi Park. “ParkShoppingBarigüi brings together several successful cases to this expansion, such as the Ice Skating Rink, new restaurants for Park Gourmet and a multi-purpose Event Center. Our goal is to generate new experiences, unprecedented operations and the Medical Center, which will combine 22 specialties with great comfort and practicality. Medical Excellence Center
One of the highlights of the project is the modern Medical Center which will include 22 specialties and a renowned medical staff. ParkShoppingBarigüi is the third mall in the Multiplan group to have such a project. The first was built more than 20 years ago in BarraShopping (RJ), and currently has 52 clinics that today perform more than 230,000 clinical and laboratory tests per month. The second mall to receive a medical center was RibeirãoShopping n 2017, located in Ribeirão Preto (SP). “The expansion of ParkShoppingBarigüi brings to the Southern Region a model already consolidated in Multiplan for over 20 years, which revolutionizes the concept of integrating healthcare with the mall. The company's focus is on quality and value creation for customers through a solid business model, ”says Marco Jardim, Multiplan's Southern Regional Director.
Fully integrated with ParkShoppingBarigüi, the Medical Center will bring medical excellence through the integration of different areas of specialization and will feature a number of facilities: different hours of service and ample parking with exclusive access. The new space will also include a café, reception and concierge.
Viva Barigüi Park Project
The expansion project also includes the implementation of Viva Barigüi Park, an ecological corridor along the Barigüi River that will integrate the mall with Barigüi Park, creating a new outdoor recreation area for residents of the region. It is inspired by the principles of environmental preservation, local sustainable development and promotion of quality of life and well-being.
